Built to Last in the Missouri Climate
A retaining wall is a structure that stabilizes and holds soil in place to prevent erosion when there is a sloped yard or an unshaped landscape.
Retaining walls used to be constructed out of railroad ties or other lumber, but the lifespan of a retaining wall made of wood products was only 10-15 years. Today, newer composite and concrete materials are meant to last a lifetime and withstand the abuse of Missouri’s climate extremes.
